Electric Cars, obviously are not conventional cars that we see in our everyday life. An electric car, though its appearance resembles a conventional car, it is unique in its own way. While conventional cars run on diesel or fuel that has been depleting rapidly every day, Electric cars run on electricity and uses batteries to store electricity. These batteries have to be charged completely every day for daily use. While it does contribute to the deed of saving environment from harmful pollutants such as carbon monoxide, electric cars are also much easier to maintain compared to conventional cars. What’s more, they are also much more energy efficient. For those who are not very comfortable with cars that run solely on electricity, these cars come in hybrid models as well. Plug-in-hybrid electric cars offer both gasoline or diesel engine and electric motor. In terms of air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, electric cars are much cleaner than conventional cars that use non-renewable sources like fuel. After acknowledging these advantage, Government of India has taken initiatives to bring these eco-friendly cars into the spotlight.
